Description
Senyokô Hora de la Verdad Sol Eau de Parfum is an ultra masculine citrus fragrance where sparkling citrusses duel with spicy geranium and the lemonlike facets of rose absolute. Hora de la Verdad is an homage to Ernest Hemingway’s 1930s non-fiction book Death in the Afternoon and is inspired by the ritualised rivalry between matador and bull.
Bergamot, Seville orange and grapefruit give bitter citrus zing to the opening which finds the perfect spicy sparring partner in both pink and timut pepper notes. This is a macho display, like the tensions and passions that bind the matador to the bull. While the push and pull between refreshing citrus and spicy pepper dominates the top, Senyokô Hora de la Verdad’s heart swivels around a fulcrum of pulsating red.
The most manly rose dominates the scent’s floral core. It is aggressive, majestic and beautiful, and made all the more masculine by the citronella kick of geranium. The pride of beast and man on aggressive display is translated into the shifting binary between the aromatic freshness and the ever emerging earthy notes of Spanish saffron and labdanum.
But Hora de la Verdad Sol is not just about opposition, it is a celebration of spiritual union. Like sunrays beating down onto the base, the grapefruit’s dusty tartness segues magically into notes of dry, bittersweet leather. Senyokô Hora de la Verdad is a wondrous case in point of how shimmering citruss connects with the darkness of tanned hide. Deep and dark it may be, but there is no shadow in this passionate scent. Here reigns a blackness in full sun – the untamed soul of hot-blooded bulls in broad daylight.
‘El sol es el mejor torero’ – the sun is the best bullfighter. Without the sun and its raw contrast, the best bullfighter is not there – he is like a man without a shadow. Senyokô Hora de la Verdad is for a person who stands out proudly. It is sensually powerful, soulfully sustaining and passionately stirring – the essence of bullfighting in a relentlessly beautiful battle of a scent.
