Scent Trunk Starlight Sesame (Eau de Parfum) is an Indian ode to sesame, a symbol of abundance, warmth and joy. A fresh, sweet amber perfume with floral overtones on a honeyed tobacco base. The perfume is a celebration of the Indian festival of “Sankrant”, which marks the Sun’s passage from Sagittarius to Capricorn.

Scent Trunk Starlight Sesame opens with the freshness of bergamot and narcissus petals. The nutty scent of sesame falls on a tonkabean pillow and cushions the honeyed, smoky amber base. A jaggery accord with labdanum and honey gently embraces you like the sun rising. A perfume where no one note intrudes on the other, an infinitely masterful blend.

Perfumer Anjali Vandemark on Starlight Sesame: “For me, sesame is synonymous with Sankrant, a joyous festival held each January. It is celebrated with bonfires, with flying kites, and with song and dance. Traditionally, on this day, sweets made with sesame and jaggery (raw sugar) are shared with one and all. Smiles abound. My composition paints a picture of Sesame, a symbol of abundance, warmth, and joy.”

Sankranti is a very important festival in India. Sankranti literally means movement. Everything we know as life is movement. Fortunately, the people who came before us have moved on and the people who come after us are waiting for us to move on. Starlight Sesame brings this dynamic, an olfactive invitation into life itself.
