Description
Sammarco Bond-T Eau de Parfum is an oriental cocoa patchouli blend. This richly textured niche perfume brings out the uniquely dry, layered and liquored notes of the precious cocoa bean. Although the perfumer was inspired by a visit to a luxury Italian chocolatier in Pisa, Bond-T is no sweet confection. The opening is dense and moody with the aromatic bloom of raw, unsweetened cocoa revealing the spiritual origins of the drink so precious to the Aztecs. Associated with the god Quetzalcoatl (The god of learning and wisdom in the aztec mythology), this deeply resonant but bitter infusion was drunk as a herbal tincture to commune with the heavens, or simply as a celebratory drink to revel in the joys of life. The earthy, oud-like quality of the cocoa here is a natural counterpart to patchouli with its medicinal muskiness. Together they produce an intoxicating aroma which feels ancient yet comforting.
As Bond-T develops on the skin, a natural sweetness gradually emerges revealing an addictive gourmand quality which is tempered by the narcotic aroma of tobacco. At its base, Bond-T has a phenolic peatiness akin to Scotch whisky which adds a smoky, malted aroma to the olfactory arrangement. Teamed with the animalic tones of castoreum, the dry down reveals a dark and brooding leathery accord. The perfect scent for sophisticated and sensual niche perfume lovers with a free-spirited bohemian side.
