Rania J Lavande 44 Eau de Parfum is an intensely aromatic take on a classic lavender fragrance given new dimension thanks to warm and spicy woods, musks and balsams. Lavande 44 opens with the citrus purity of bergamot and petitgrain. Keystone of the opening notes, however, is a rich and natural lavender accord which radiates a suave, masculine warmth. There is an unadulterated purity to this lavender which is far removed from its shouty wardrobe sachet rendition – perhaps due to the inclusion of both lavender essential oil and lavender absolute in the formula. The niche scent’s heart is replete with a tranquilising herbal quality which feels textured and well-rounded – as if the fragrance not only contains the healing properties of the lavender plant, but also the body to be healed.

Lavande 44 Eau de Parfum is not merely a refreshing take on a classic barbershop fragrance. The clean lavender note shares centre stage with a mellow oriental melange of oud, vetiver and cedar. The scent’s underlying woodiness is both powerful and delicate as its hefty timber qualities meet smooth and sweet notes of tonka bean and patchouli in the base. Lavande 44 elegantly tapers off leaving the warm and sultry sweetness of white musk to linger on the skin. The perfect perfume for those in search of a scent which is modern and confidently modest.
