Description
Parfum D’Empire Immortelle Corse (Extrait de Parfum) is a sunny perfume with the warm, woody, fruity, liqueur and spicy aspects of immortelle. Marc-Antoine Corticchiato, founder and perfumer of Parfum D’Empire, is fascinated by the main symbol of its Corsican maquis: it is like the sun setting the earth on fire with an olfactive flame.
The French call it immortelle, “eternal”, because its bright yellow flowers never wilt. It is also known as Helichrysum: Greek for ‘sun-coloured’, its fragrance permeates the island’s air in summer. Parfum D’Empire Immortelle Corse highlights immortelle with flame-coloured ingredients such as saffron, apricot and lemon.
The trio of flaming notes evokes the sunny glow of the immortelle flower. Their velvety accords lead through to the star ingredient, the immortelle itself. Although one of the most potent natural fragrances in the perfumer’s palette, it expresses its rich aromas of spices, liqueur, wood and fruit mostly in the drydown. In contrast, the salty earthiness of oakmoss evokes the soil where the plant of immortality grows.
Corsican and untameable.
