Description
Parfum D’Empire Eau De Gloire (Eau de Parfum) is a fragrance with the fiery aromatic scent of Corsican maquis and the citrusy freshness of sparkling mandarin and bergamot. Eau De Gloire (In English: Water of Glory) follows in the footsteps of the imperial sillage across the Mediterranean. The founder and perfumer of Parfum D’Empire, Marc-Antoine Corticchiato pays tribute to Corsicans who left their villages to conquer the world, such as his father who settled in Morocco to plant citrus groves, or his most famous compatriot, Napoleon Bonaparte. The perfume evokes these glorious, tragic destinies, from which empires, small and great, are built… and sometimes lost by the twist of fate.
The Corsican exiles do not carry the image of their island in their hearts and minds, but the lively scent of the scrub. “With my eyes closed, in the darkest night, if by some miracle I were to find myself in Corsica, I would immediately recognise it by its scent,” wrote a young student at the military academy in Brienne, then known as Buonaparte…
Parfum D’Empire Eau De Gloire opens with a refreshing burst of citrus (mandarin and bergamot), enhanced by wild mastica, myrtle and rosemary, and softened by neroli. Very quickly, the warm scent of maquis shrubs asserts itself in the base notes, such as immortelle, cistus and oakmoss, blended with frankincense.
A perfume for empire builders who have not forgotten their origins or those left behind… and who take the immortal scent of their birthplace with them wherever they go.
