Description

Parfum D’Empire Corsica Furiosa (Eau de Parfum) is a lush green love letter to mastic, the evergreen shrub so characteristic of Corsica. Green in all its shades, it is energising and vibrant, evoking the scent of the maquis. But Corsica Furiosa is much more than that: it is the quintessence of everything that makes the “island of beauty” unique, wild and powerful. The sharp contrasts of its scents, its colours, its reliefs, its passions, its secrets.

Furioso is a musical term meaning “to play fast and passionately”… Corsica, where perfumer Marc-Antoine Corticchiato has his roots, is never calm. It gives too many impulses to the eyes, the nose, the heart, and when you are almost bursting with feelings and emotions, you can relax in the green scrubland.

The opening of the fragrance begins with the green bite of népita, a local Corsican wild mint variety. Crisp green tomato leaves enhance the natural fragrance effect. When the mastica (also known as lentiscus) starts its melody, the mood heats up. The stubborn essential oil is the first to take off. Peppery, fruity, aromatic, then with earthy and mushroomy, it plunges into the heart of Parfum D’Empire Corsica Furiosa. With time, the mastica absolute takes on a softer green atmosphere: notes of hay, tobacco, honey and straw round it out, just a hint of liquorice drops a shadow on it. A third type of mastica extraction, obtained using a special technique, blows in scents of resin, spices and leather that draw you deeper into the mountain scrub… until you find a rest on a bed of green moss.
