Parfum D’Empire Aziyadé (Eau de Parfum) is a stunningly unique spicy amber perfume that dares to be outrageously sexy. A quintessence of carnal pleasure. The perfume’s opening is fruity and spicy oriental, pomegranate juice splashes into candied dates, prunes and luscious oranges. A rich array of aphrodisiac spices unfolds sensuously to melt into a seductive bed of incense, cistus and tonkin musk.

Aziyadé is an elixir that has been used as an aphrodisiac in many cultures throughout history. It invites to a sensual feast where the physical pleasures of love are intimately intertwined with the experience of tasting. Aziyadé is more than a fragrance, it is a taste. It is the taste of the flesh of Aziyadé, the heroine of Pierre Loti’s novel, which tells the story of a harem in the twilight of the Ottoman Empire – although we now know that Loti’s heroine, the embodiment of love, originally started out as a hero…

Is Parfum D’Empire Aziyadé the forbidden fruit? The perfume opens with a splash of pomegranate: for the ancient Greeks, to taste it was to drink the blood of the drunken god Dionysus, to experience a cosmic union… Candied dates, almonds, oranges and prunes are inflamed with aphrodisiac spices: cardamom, favoured by the ancient Egyptians to make their kisses more searing; Ceylon cinnamon, an essential ingredient for erotic feasts for the Romans; ginger, used in China for stimulation; and finally Egyptian cumin, used in the sacred rituals of the Sumerian empire.

The oriental scent of Aziyadé draws into the smoke-filled atmosphere of erotic celebrations. It evokes the tobacco leaf with raw Indian patchouli, used in magical rituals to stimulate sexual desire. Vanilla, an aphrodisiac in the Aztec empire, is enhanced by the creamy notes of carob. Tears of Arabian incense unravel love and sacral ecstasy: did Queen Hatshepsut show off her naked body rubbed in incense to pay homage to the god Amun-Ra?

Parfum D’Empire Aziyadé, intoxicated by luxury and pleasure, plunges deeper into sensuality. Its animalistic fragrance notes evoke the pervasive scent of the mythical tonkin musk; the absolute scent of Moroccan cistus reveals its resinous notes. In Aziyadé, an overdose concentration of refined substances requires slow maceration to transform into a natural dark nectar.
