Papillon Artisan Perfumes Dryad Eau de Parfum is a glittering green fragrance casting mottled light on a base of mosses, ambers and musks. Dryad is a modern chypre, opening with classic citrusy top notes given an unexpected kick thanks to the refreshing tartness of cedrat, the most raw and rustic of citrus fruits. The nomadic wanderings of Dryad continue to veer off the classic chypre route, as vibrant emerald galbanum interweaves with the delicate flesh of bergamot. Beneath jade canopies, Dryad’s heart morphs from radiant greens to the golden glow of apricot and sweet-herbed narcissus nestles with jonquil. The forest floor is cooling and rich with the earthen ochre benzoin resins, while heady oakmoss entwines with deep vetiver hues. The base has the dark, animalic depth of a mythological faun’s musk: vein and vine unite as the sensual, skin-like aroma of the costus plant beckons you further into the forest.

In mythology a dryad is a nymph inhabiting a tree or woodland and this otherworldly scent perfectly captures in perfume the landscape of a Sylvan idyll and its ethereal spirits.
