One Day Perfumes Kyoto Eau de Parfum is a minimalist meditation of a perfume – combining delicate tendrils of Japanese incense with the gentle steam of a tea ceremony.

Kyoto opens with a moment of clarity thanks to bergamot and bitter orange blossom. Cedarwood and soft spices are subtly interwoven with the mellow resonance of a guaicwood and frankincense – like a distant gong asking us to take a mindful moment out of the world of temporal being.

Comforting textures capture what it’s like to live in the here and now – the comfort of kneeling on a traditional tatami mat, the soft texture of smooth fabric, a floral swirl of tea. A celebration of life’s little ceremonies, One Day Perfumes Kyoto is an emotional ritual that is nourishment for the soul.

In our globalised world how do we capture the essence of place? One Day perfumes focuses on a number of the world’s most interconnected locations, the kind of ubiquitously present places that feature on airport destination screens, time zone clocks and brand flagship store lists. The Ethos of Cities Limited Series aims to embody these globalised spaces in a personal way, thereby reclaiming a sense of specificity from the homogenised experiences of globalisation.

One Day, the Hong Kong based niche perfume house invites us to closely contemplate on a number of international cities with contemporary resonance. London, Seoul, Amsterdam, Berlin, Kyoto (as well as the country Thailand) have been translated into perfume form as part of an installation entitled A Nice Place to Smell in a Hong Kong gallery. This luxury, limited series is the antithesis of our post covid return to frenetic globetrotting. Like classical high art, production is exclusively restricted and the beautifully minimalistic niche fragrances are available only upon preorder.

7scents is one of the only stores in the world permitted to stock the One Day Perfumes Ethos of Cities Limited Series. It is a guest collection at 7scents that is available to sample both in store and online. The fragrances can be purchased exclusively in the form of pre-order until 28.02.2023, delivery is expected during April.
