Description
Mendittorosa North Eau de Parfum is a modern, pared-down perfume of dry, musky woods heightened by sparkling aldehydes. Fresh, aromatic conifer resins hint at Scandinavian minimalism – like the clean eucalyptus air of a sauna. The scent’s tree sap coolness warms up thanks to dry, earthy, evergreen wood. Atlas cedarwood has a rustic depth while notes of phenolic Scots pine has a playful, nose tingling sharpness. Evoking carefree childhood days, Virginian cedarwood is rich in the aroma of fresh pencil shavings and gives the perfume’s heart a light and nostalgic feel. Citrussy aldehydes, further brighten things up, making the juice zing with fizzy refinement. The drydown, however, is deep and resonant: a peppery, musky, wood-dense base has the calming effect of dry incense. Avant-garde and ancient, minimalistic but highly comforting, North is fragrance that rewards exploration.
Mendittorosa North Eau de Parfum is a scent of straight-taking simplicity. Unadorned woods suped-up with synths gives this niche perfume a contemporary twist. North forms one half of ‘The Duo’ collection, within Mendittorosa’s ‘Odori d’Anima’ series. The other being South. The North and South duo is a love story of opposites longing for each other. A story of two souls, two cultures: Scandinavia and the Mediterranean, in an eternal dance of attraction. Two hearts as one. Calm, woody North can be layered with warm, spontaneous South or worn individually.
North and South are bottled in French artisan made glass, with metal caps decorated in the geographical coordinates of Scandinavia and Italy. The names of the fragrances are engraved on metal medallions tied on with natural rope. Contrasting colours are used in the coding of the perfumes; cooler North is warmed-up with golden bronze accents while the glowing nostalgia of South is cooled-down with silvered elements. The bottles are protected by handcrafted wooden boxes, which are licensed replicas of the crates used by Tuscan sculptor and artist Alessandro Reggioli to transport his art around the world.
