Mendittorosa Id Eau de Parfum is a warm, woody scent with a heart of oriental spices and a resin-dense base of amber and labdanum. A rustic niche perfume with a brooding, raw charm. The opening features a brief, floral bouquet of jasmine, iris and violet. This jolly overture quickly succumbs to the heated spice notes of clove and cinnamon, revealing the essential wilderness at Id’s core. Like volcanic sediment, the base is layered with precious woods and oud, while labdanum radiates an ancient, sweet-amber glow. Siam benzoin and ambroxan fix the scent into a unified deep and resiny base. A primordial melting pot of a perfume, Id is essential and untethered and characterized by a dark passion that drives us onward toward our dreams. Inspired by ‘Iddu’, a local nickname for the living volcano that towers over the island of Stromboli, Id is an olfactory dedication to this fiery primal being that first breathed the Mendittorosa perfume house into life.

Mendittorosa Id Eau de Parfum is part of the ‘Trilogy’ Collection within the Mendittorosa ‘Odori d’Anima’ Series. As well as Id, ‘Trilogy’ consists of Alfa, Omega. Id’s mystery is in its name – the black stones of the iddu island with its pulsating heart of lava. Id is genderless like an angel. Openings and closures that chase one another. Lights and shadows, male and female in unity. Alfa and Omega are extreme and desperate, Id comes from a place of balanced benevolence. It is the scent of mediation, connection and love. Uniting the sensual energy and erotic power of the ‘Trilogy’ compositions, Id can be worn solo but is also ideal for layering with Alfa and Omega to achieve a truly personal effect.

Mendittorosa bottles come in handmade wooden boxes, which are miniature editions of those used by Tuscan artist Alessandro Reggioli, to transport his works. The unique boxes are hand-stamped, wrapped in twine and held together with a metal tag. The bottle itself is also artisan designed with thick, heavy glass and rounded corners like sea glass. The cap’s unique, dulled metallic finish heightens the ancient, rustic look.
