House of Matriarch Pearl Snaps Eau de Parfum is an aromatic woody fragrance of desert botanics and wild west animalics inspired by a free spirited cowboy. Pearl Snaps is the essence of everything a cowboy holds dear. Rare, high desert herbs and flowers such as hardy greasewood and dried marigold, with its camphor heat, take us to the scrubland of western North America. A unique ‘terlingua’ accord captures the inhospitable hot climate of the chaparral shrubland ecosystem, the natural habitat of the cowboy. With notes of rugged leather and spicy tobacco you can almost hear the swing of the saloon bar door, where the liquor was hard and the men were harder.

The heart of vintage organic Texas cedarwood is enlivened with cruelty free animalics. Denim draws us towards the body of the man himself. The sensual power of House Of Matriarch Pearl Snaps lies in its ability to capture the aroma of rustic sexuality, blurring the lines between male body heat and the herds he keeps. Raw, natural masculinity is tamed by a clean ‘Irish soap’ accord, allowing fresh skin notes to glow. Our cowboy is untethered by convention, but he holds himself to high standards. As Pearl Snaps goes through its extended drydown it has already won our hearts, radiating the allusive and attractive appeal of a hero on a horse riding off into the sunset.

About the perfume’s name: “Pearl snap shirts are the choice of real cowboys. When moving between the tonnage of bucking animals, breakaway snaps are a safety feature which prevent the cowboy from being snagged, tangled or dragged inside the rodeo arena or out on the range. You can sometimes distinguish a real cowboy from a wannabe by the type of buttons on his shirt. This perfume is lovingly dedicated to the memory of a true cowboy, Lee Penland, who wore pearl snap shirts each and every day.” Perfumer: Christi Meshell

Heart notes:Texas cedar, pinon pine, denim, dried marigold, greasewood, terlingua chaparral tincture
Base notes: sweetgrass, clover, roasted barley, leather and tack accord, Captain Black Tobacco
