Description
Gallivant Tokyo Eau de Parfum is a zingy, spicy and woody fragrance laced with delicate incense – a playful tribute to kōdō, the traditional Japanese way to enjoy fragrance. Gallivant Tokyo perfectly captures the two sides of the Japanese capital. On one hand it buzzes with all the energy and neon lights of an izakaya eatery, vibing on citrusy, spicy top notes of yuzu, bergamot, black pepper and cardamom, electrified with a dash of wasabi – sour and sweet textures on the tongue. On the other hand, there’s contemplative stillness, the earthy dampness of potted plants outside shrines and wooden temples. Sandalwood and clean incense have a refined spirituality and rest in calm elegance amid the rush of the big city.
As the sweet and sour blast of the opening yields to the woody heart of hinoki, cedarwood, orris root, nutmeg, rose and incense, we are rewarded with olfactive space for meditation and self reflection. From zing to zen, Gallivant Tokyo unveils its base of amber, sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver – a beautiful fragrance that invokes the special air of early morning Tokyo. A balm for the nostrils while wandering delicate back streets, electric cables overhead, everything is tranquil and surprisingly quiet – a global metropolis with a village feel, silence amid sirens, small wooden houses beneath skyscrapers – Tokyo is fascinatingly flexible.
