Description
Gallivant Accra Eau de Parfum is a mouth-wateringly tropical cocktail of fruits, spices and woods – a journey to Africa’s capital of cool. Top notes feel like a fantasy interpretation of emudro, the thirst-quenching Ghanaian drink made of ginger, peppercorns and cane sugar. The zingy, cola-like fizziness of the opening is beautifully rendered from a blend of fruits and spices. The warm vanilla sweetness of African passionberry is balanced by the tropical tang of mango and papaya, while hot peppers give the mix a vibrant kick. The joyful refreshment of davana and eucalyptus makes this the perfect perfume to wear in the heat.
Gallivant Accra’s perfume heart turns to the hustle and bustle of the city as CO2 coffee extract and saffron flirt with notes of bodies on the move. A cocoa accord teamed with tobacco and styrax is dynamic and energizing. In the base, a warm, dry earthiness reverberates with the addictive energy of Afro-Jazz – dark and pulsating like vintage vinyl. Leather and patchouli sensually intertwine with smoky liatrix and musks, capturing the heat and intensity of nightlife in hot places.
Accra, the capital of Ghana is a city resonant in bygone glamour, tropical sensuality and enveloping heat. True to its inspiration, Gallivant Accra Eau de Parfum is a complex and layered explosion of aroma and colour. What makes this perfume so brilliantly life affirming is how it blends the vibrancy of African culture (seen most clearly in the rainbow kaleidoscope of traditional Ghanaian waxed kente cloth) with the muted earthen tones of ochres and burnt umbers associated the West African landscape. Just add a tropical tipple along the country’s long, palm tree lined coast, and life doesn’t get much better than this!
