Filippo Sorcinelli Trompette 8 Extrait de Musique is a mysteriously sensual fragrance of zingy woods and spices sparkling over a deep incense base. The ‘Trompette’ organ register is one of the most archaic and is so called because it creates a characteristic sound, somewhere between metallic and woody, similar to that of real brass instruments. The result is a rich, resonant tone with bright “scratching” effects.

As a niche perfume based on an instrument that sounds like another instrument, Trompette 8 is the scent of double synesthesia. The cedarwood-incense heart helps translate the floaty wafts of perfume into the robust presence of a grand old organ. Fresher citrus notes blend with hints of chilli and pepper to capture the sparkling tang of a brass trumpet. The whole is united in a base of classic frankincense, which when teamed with the sour spice of elemi transports us into the musty, hushed air of an ancient church interior.

Filippo Sorcinelli Trompette 8 Extrait de Musique is a scent of spiritual and sensual transformation. By surrendering to the floating journey that is scents posing as sounds, and sounds posing as other sounds, we are able to transcend the here and now and become something magically other.

Top notes: bergamot, pink pepper, elemi
Heart notes: cedarwood, chilli pepper
Base notes: incense, labdanum, black pepper absolute
