Filippo Sorcinelli Rosa Fiorita (Extrait de Parfum) is inspired by the drawers of the sacristy of the Basilica of Santa Rita da Cascia. The perfume’s main protagonist is the queen of all flowers: the rose – and a very special expression of it. The perfume opens with geranium that makes an alluring vow, attracting the dewy petals of the May rose. Lily of the valley and iris embrace the protagonist of the composition and complete the almost impossible promise of love. As the perfume dries down, the rose, far from fading, takes on a new and even more powerful life with the help of the Damascian rose. A wonderful perfume for those who are in love with love itself.

“Hello Rita, vessel of love, painful bride of Christ, you are born from the thorns of the Savior, beautiful as a rose”. This phrase is engraved as a greeting on the central beam of the basilica façade.

The olfactive memory refers to this saint who, lying ill in his monastic cell in Cascia in January 1457, asked a cousin to bring him a rose from his land in Roccaporena. According to tradition, God granted this wish and Rita’s cousin was able to pick a rose for her, which bloomed in the snow in winter.
