Description
Dusita La Rhapsodie Noire Eau de Parfum Is a glowing gourmand fougere fragrance combining warm and fresh notes with a sumptuous amber vanilla base. La Rhapsodie Noire is a niche perfume that speaks directly to the wearer’s subconscious nostalgia for an age of glamorous flappers, overflowing champagne coups and jazz. One night, Dusita founder and nose Pissara Umavijani was crossing the Pont-Neuf listening to “Rhapsody in Blue’ when in a Midnight in Paris-like flash, her imagination was fuelled by images and sensations of the ‘City of Light’ in the 1920s.
She imagined a fragrance opening with the tonifying energy of coffee and rum along with a hint of cigar in the air – the heady atmosphere of a buzzing 20s Parisian cafe. As the name suggests La Rhapsodie Noire has a decadently nocturnal side. It is also a jubilant soiree of a scent. For this Pissara expertly balanced warm amber notes with clary sage and French lavender – providing fougère-like aromatic freshness. Both the dark and fresh facets seamlessly lead to a suave floral blend of mimosa, broom and jasmine Sambac, wrapping the heart in timeless elegance.
In the perfume’s base, earthy ingredients such as patchouli, oakmoss, oakwood and vetiver support the composition, while the gourmand vibe is reinforced by sandalwood, tonka bean, and Madagascar vanilla to create a dense lush, and totally enjoyable olfactory experience. A reminder that the best things in life are a little bit bad for you. Darkly Opulent yet with a glittering vibrancy fit for the ‘Bright Young Things’, Dusita La Rhapsodie Noire is a fragrance dedicated to all those with a sentimental soul for the Paris of ‘Les Années Folles’ – the fabulous Roaring Twenties.
