Description

Blackbird Moto Oud Eau de Parfum is the mesmerizing scent of a carpenter-cum-mechanic as peppery woods meet oily motor parts. Capturing the warm, resinous interior of a craftsman’s atelier, the opening is pepper heavy with notes of cedarwood shavings and earthy sawdust channelling strong carpentry vibes. The reassuring air of industrious activity bottled in a niche perfume.

But Moto Oud’s main theme is that of engine failure in the open sun. The central oud accord heralds a dynamic gear shift from the shrouded interior of the workshop to the sunscorched asphalt of the open road. Here, the oud has a leathery masculinity which is accentuated by saffron’s wonderful ability to mimic the grind of burnt rubber. The willowy, woody base – a Blackbird specialty – is complex in its ability to be both solid yet subtle.

Blackbird Moto Oud lies in an addictive place between the scent of a joiner’s saw in action and a broke down bike in the desert. This highly original rendition of an oud perfume somehow manages to showcase worn out clutch, blown rubber gaskets, sunbaked cracked leather, as well as hints of your grandad’s woodwork shed while still remaining addictively smellable.
