Parfum D’Empire Musc Tonkin (Extrait de Parfum) invites you into the realm of the senses: powerful, addictive, enveloped in an erotic aura. The scent of heated carnality: sunny, feline, delicately leathery. This elixir reimagines, in a novel, contemporary style, the most adored note in perfumery for millennia: tonkin musk.

The Chinese have valued it as an aphrodisiac since ancient times. Its fragrance was considered so heavenly by Islam that some mosques mixed it into the mortar of their mosques to diffuse in the sun. It was so penetrating that ships laden with tea refused to carry it for fear it would fertilise their cargo… Tonkin musk, produced by a species of Himalayan deer, was one of the most prized ingredients in the perfumers’ palette: it imbued perfumes with a sensual aura that captured and magnified all other essences.

For ethical reasons, it is no longer used, but natural musk still haunts perfumers, as it has never been perfectly replaced. Parfum D’Empire Musc Tonkin brings this fascinating spirit to life by blending the most sumptuous raw materials to evoke its myriad of facets.
