Sylhouette Parfums Bible Noir (Extrait de Parfum) is a smoky amber perfume about the loss of faith through the symbol of a burnt-out church. Through smoldering flames, the inner soul becomes faithless and emotions turn to ashes.

Sylhouette Parfums Bible Noir breaks new ground in the incense / temple perfume style by blending sacred scents with defiantly animalic notes. As if the sanctity of religion could be impure and imperfect, just like the human nature. Under the cleansing smoke, we can feel safe, free from all sin and problems.

The opening of Bible Noir is pure and holy with the intertwining of myrrh and labdanum, interwoven with the delicate fibres of smoke. As a contrast, animalic castoreum rears its head as the perfume dries down and the smoke of guaiacwood pervades the fragrance with increasing venom. A serious call to the depraved state of humanity. The perfume reminds of the horror of a holy man who has seen the flames of hell.

Sylhouette Perfumes Bible Noir, part of the Les Vanités perfume collection, draws inspiration from the Vanitas (Vanity) art movement, paying homage to the beauty of death, the transience of time and the transience inherent in every aspect of life.

Fragrance notes: myrrh, guaiacwood, labdanum absolute, choya loban absolute, castoreum, Himalayan cedar wood
