Description
Meo Fusciuni Buio (Extrait de Parfum) is an oriental woody perfume with the fragrance of darkness, enveloped in a floating smoky leather. Darkness is the state where our innermost, deepest emotions are hidden, where we keep the pieces of our Self in a treasure chest. Every night spent with eyes open is a slave to capricious insomnia, the darkness sometimes populated by terrifying, hungry giants. But darkness can also mean hope, as even when it surrounds you, there is always the knowledge that sooner or later it will disappear.
Meo Fusciuni Buio perfume’s opening is quite disarming. The cade oil is overwhelmingly smoky, dominated by aromatic and balsamic notes. It takes up all the space and air. The earthy freshness of carrot seed melts into a mysterious burnt incense. For over an hour and a half, we hit an olfactive wall that we have no hope of breaking through.
As the fragrance opens, the dark notes of osmanthus mingle with the awakening of peony, geranium and magnolia in the perfume’s heart. The flowers are embraced by the warmth of labdanum absolut and amber. The base of the perfume is solid and powerful, not letting a ray of light entering in the darkness. The vetiver is grounded by patchouli, the cedarwood is wedged with leathery notes, the musk in the background seems to surprise the curtain with a flash.
Meo Fusciuni Buio invites to a strangely familiar, palpably benign, homey place. In its protective veil, we can find a refuge for inner transformation, so that the darkness no longer haunts us.
