Description
Aedes De Venustas Corfu Kumquat (Eau de Parfum) with the penetratingly fresh scent of citrus in the Greek sunshine. A breeze of salty sea air wafts through the special citrus peel warmed by the sun and fills the air of the valleys. The kumquat fruit, which is native to Asia, was brought to Greece by Chinese traders in the 1800s and Corfu became fond of this tiny orange fruit with its bitter orange flavour. Today it is largely grown on the northern coast and is mostly used to make liqueurs and sweets.
“When you are in Corfu, you are struck by the beauty of the island, the architecture, the history,” says Robert Gerstner, co-founder of Aedes De Venustas. “Empress Elizabeth spent months there for a reason.”
Aedes De Venustas Corfu Kumquat is the work of Greek perfumer Ilias Ermenidis, who has dreamed up all the natural beauty and magical royal history of his homeland in the perfume. In this mysterious citrus fragrance, the scent of kumquat is enhanced by the thick bergamot rind. Its woody fragrance is balanced by the scent of mandarin and neroli. Salty ambroxan and mystical olibanum invite you to the shores of a beautiful Greek island.
At the perfumed heart of Aedes De Venustas Corfu Kumquat, ginger, lavender, Granny Smith apple and rhubarb entice with a rounded fruitiness. Alaskan cedar, vetiver, and aged musk hold the base of the perfume, interspersed with fine strands of tonka bean. Unique and full of joyful emotions, Corfu Kumquat goes far beyond the citrusy fragrance experience.
