Description
Parfum D’Empire Iskander (Eau de Parfum) is a refreshing citrusy perfume on the border between East and West. Just like the conqueror whose name it bears – Iskander is the Persian translation of Alexander the Great – this citrusy chypre perfume gallops from West to East in pursuit of precious fragrances. Today, citrus is reminiscent of the Mediterranean, but it originated in Asia: the sparkling, tart lemon was brought to Europe by Hellenic expeditions; the green-fleshed mandarin was first grown in China, and the bitter grapefruit in Southeast Asia.
In Parfum D’Empire Iskander, these sun-kissed fruits are refreshed by a hint of tarragon and coriander, which adds a peppery, spicy accent. Green, delicate neroli distilled from bitter orange blossom softens the lively accords.
The oakmoss and amber base is embraced by musk to give the perfume a log lasting and chypre character. The notes also evoke the young conqueror Alexander’s journey from West to East: oakmoss from the Macedonian forests, amber from the Arabian coast and tonkin musk from China, where Iskander was able to reach after his conquest of India. Parfum D’Empire Iskander is a perfume like the one stolen by men from the gods in their quest for immortality.
