Description
Milano Fragranze Galleria Eau de Parfum is a sumptuously soft leather fragrance, cheered up by red fruits and coffee. Galleria is a direct reference to the prestigious Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, which has been lined with the luxury goods of classic Italian manufacturers since the 19th century. There is an atmospheric sensuality to Galleria, thanks in no small part to the notes of violet leaf and iris – traditionally used to add a delicate floral softness to tanned hides.
What sets Milano Fragranze Galleria apart is the use of precious orris butter, which adds a sense of cool, effortless luxury. The highly expensive perfume ingredient – notoriously laborious to harvest and time consuming to mature – is the olfactive equivalent of the intricate, handcraft expertise that goes into the production of haute couture leather goods.
An oriental base of sandalwood, patchouli and a warm amber accord conjures up images of high-end luggage and fine leather travel goods, connecting the familiarity of the galleria (aptly nicknamed by the Milanese as – ‘il salotto di Milano’, ‘the living room of Milan’) to exotic places and far flung climes.
