Infieri Park Of The Monsters (Extrait de Parfum) is an arcane, swirling incense perfume, and was inspired by one of the most bizarre parks in the world. Maria Teresa Venezia, the founder of the Infieri perfume house, recounts in fragrance form her childhood memories of visiting this park filled with strange sculptures. The park is 92km north of Rome and found in the city of Bomarzo. Memories of the place have haunted her ever since her visit, that is how Park Of The Monsters came to be.

The opening of the perfume steps us into the park, the lilacs engulf you with the scent of buttery cloves atop an aromatic green accord as Hannibal’s elephant welcomes visitors. A mild minty aura mixes with delicate guaiacwood and elusive spices as we pass by Ceres, the goddess of fertility, using a giant pile of fruits as her throne. Walking by the tortoise carrying the figure of a winged woman on its back, we perceive Orcus from the corner of our eye, its gaping maw acting as the gate to hell. As the words carved into stone dictate: OGNI PENSIERO VOLA (All Thoughts Fly), the incense ignites and cleanses you with its delicate smoke.

You need to make a run for it before the gates of hell can swallow you! Luckily Pegasus, the winged horse, awaits to whisk you away to freedom over an inconceivable sea. Proteus sails on a whale, and Triton, god of the oceans, sitting at the bottom of the see, greeting you to his golden palace filled with the enchanting song of sirens.

Infieri Park Of The Monsters (Extrait de Parfum) has been nominated for the Art and Olfaction Awards 2022 for the Best Perfumes Prize in the Independent Category.
