Description
Dusita Mélodie de l’Amour is the winner of the Best Perfume prize in the 2017 Art & Olfaction Awards for Artisan Perfumery.
Dusita Mélodie de l’Amour Extrait de Parfum is a beautifully harmonious symphony of creamy and indolic gardenia presiding over 150 varieties of white florals. Pissara Umavijani, founder and nose at Dusita, created Melodie de l’Amour as a perfumed homage to the poetry of her late father. This is clearly to be seen in the scent’s heady bouquet of top notes, which have the fragrant intensity of love distilled into an absolute. Mélodie l’Amour’s breathtaking opening celebrates the seductive ambiguity of the white floral world: on the one hand, romantic notes of gardenia gleam in freshly spiced innocence. On the other hand, jasmine’s fleshy flirtations suggest carnel excess and a prominent tuberose note exposes the dark passion lurking underneath the brightest blossoms.
Mélodie de l’Amour is a celebration of sensual surplus, a niche perfume which explores a sense of boundless creativity and the unconditionality of true love. Opening up new means of expressing olfactory bliss, the heart pulsates with a rubbery and narcotic effect – revealing the surprisingly addictive, petrol-like facets of tuberose. Right at the scent’s core a tenacious musk note exudes a confident sexuality which keeps you wanting more. Mélodie de l’Amour calms down at its base like a lover resting after his exploits. Creamy peach blends with lily of the valley’s green sensuality. The honey glow of sweet Italian broom flower gently sets into the rich nocturnal refrain of Indian jasmine – maintaining a sumptuous floral freshness right to the end. A beautifully balanced niche perfume combining bottled passion with olfactive poetry.
