Christèle Jacquemin Memory Lane Eau de Parfum is a sweet scented amber mystery which slowly unveils facets of fruits and woods atop a glowing vanilla base. Inspired by Christèle Jacquemin’s quest to confront the childhood she thought she had forgotten, Memory Lane is an olfactory work which explores the scents that make us who we are. The opening is bright and subtly spiced as notes of meringue and myrrh dance around sparkling clove. The faint fruit tones of magnolia refine the ethereal top notes into a delicious, multifaceted nectar.

Linking the carefree days of our ideal past with all that has come between, Memory Lane is a scent fringed with secretive undertones. Its glowing opening notes seem to flicker above its elusive heart, which hums tantalizingly underneath – always recedes just out of view like the dark corners of the subconscious. Cypriol has an otherworldly depth thanks to its leather and earth tones while parsley is subtly aromatic and rooty. White oud has an animalic, musty character which recalls leather and lichen – a forest floor sleeping at the back of the mind’s eye. The perfume’s base is swathed in Madagascan vanilla which is warm and addictively sensual, its rounded sweetness reveals the desire at the heart of childhood memories and casts light on the murky depth of our interior. It is also this high quality raw material that lends the perfume its amber toned colour.

Memory lane Eau de Parfum tells the story of an individual. A highly personal scent in times of mass production, androids and algorithms. The niche perfume is inspired by a collection of photographs Christèle Jacquemin took in Valliguières, the village in Southern France where she lived until 16 and from where she walked away hoping to be reborn elsewhere. Memory Lane is a tribute to returning to the places we try to escape, and how confronting the ghosts of our past can help us deal with who we are in the present. Like an olfactive journal chronicling our origins, Memory Lane bears witness to our universal quest for life and love, while its sweet luminosity points the way towards a bright future.

Top notes: meringue, magnolia, myrrh

Base notes: green vanilla, white oud
