Neandertal Dark Eau de Parfum is a primeval perfume uniting ancient woods and resins with futuristic metallic notes. A darker, more shadowed version of the Neandertal story, this is a scent of movement that challenges perfumery conventions. Dark Eau de Parfum’s top note structure comprises leafy, aromatic and citrus textures, which capture the broad scope of nature. Initially, pepper and incense clash against the delicate foliage accord, pushing, pulling and in time combining to create a transgressive and original iodine profile as Neandertal Dark evolves. Sandalwood and cedar provide a durable foundation for this primordial fragrance. The inclusion of oud and leather adds unusual animalic depth and a resinous shadow. Earthy rhizome materials reintroduce the familiar green facets from the scent’s opening but this time in a darker manner. An accord comprising vetiver, patchouli and musk is offset against amber, bringing both vibrancy and richness to Neandertal Dark.

In Neanderthal Dark Eau de Parfum, the moody scents of nature create an atavistic atmosphere bringing us back to the verdant landscapes and evergreen forests inhabited by these archaic humans. Ingredients are sourced primarily from regions where Neanderthals lived 40,000 years ago. Recreating what is arguably humanity’s longest-used technological object, Neandertal fragrances come in unique stoneware containers which are individually slipcast from flint-napped axes before being vitrified at a temperature of over 1400°C. In the perfect marriage of the prehistoric with the postmodern, these objects are crafted using 3D laser scanning and printing technology to capture and record the chips, ripples and organic forms found in ancient flint-knapped axes.
